Media Archaeologies, Network Potentials & Action Research: A Meta-pod series

Faculty-led

This podcast series, curated by UTH students Antonis Petras and Dimitra Morosou, entitled "Claiming visibility: Voices from the margins'', dealt with a spectrum of various exclusions and “unwanted” bodies that succeed, fail or remain in the border/lands while trying to access society. The podcasts that were produced in collaboration with the student network of dëcoloиıze hellάş (U of Thessaly & U of Ioannina) were uploaded as the 3rd season of “Apo to Pempto” podcast series of UTH Laboratory of Social Anthropology:

  • Decolonizing Animals: Truth or Dare? (Styliani Rapti & Thomas Papanikolaou, University of Ioannina)
  • Invisible Lives: Migrant- Refugee Work (Mary Stathokosta & Alexandros Palikidis, University of Ioannina)
  • Give me an identity! (Kristina Grompalli & Thomas Papanikolaou, University of Ioannina)
  • Cement Dreams: A tale of environing pollutants and militant ecologies (Antonis Petras, University of Thessaly)
  • Ambiguous Whitenesses (Dimitra Morosou, University of Thessaly)

Furthermore, on July 2nd in the context of the Strange Weather Symposium of the 5th PSL, they were presented as a sound installation. This collective listening exercise attempted to answer the question of how we could listen to podcasts through an embodied engagement and other experimental modalities of listening.
