In this four-day intensive online workshop, students, faculty members, and researchers from the University of Thessaly and other Greek universities were introduced to the technical and theoretical issues involved in producing a podcast. The workshop was led by well-known Greek journalist Arist Chatzistefanou, considered a pioneer in Greece in the development of the podcast format.

The workshop aimed to familiarize participants with basic techniques, such as using audio equipment, recording, audio file editing, audio montaging (Audacity), and the production of podcast content. During the workshop, participants also discussed issues of dissemination and possible hosting platforms.

Due to the ongoing restrictions related to the Covid-19 pandemic, the workshop was held on Zoom (with a small in-person audience at the Laboratory of Social Anthropology in Volos). A total of fourteen (14) people participated in the workshop. Each online session (morning, afternoon) lasted for three hours. During the intervening week, participants worked independently on exercises in recording sound and in sound montage.

The workshop concluded with a google doc brainstorming session followed by group discussion on the possibilities of podcasting for experimental humanities, public anthropology and activism.
