The main symposium day began with an oral history from award winning storyteller, Daneed Asad, followed by a short lecture by Dr. Abdel Fattah Abusrour (Bethlehem University/Alrowwad Culture and Arts Society) on the role of oral history and storytelling in the Palestinian struggle against occupation. Next, participants heard from Ahmad Qadi (7amleh) and Dr. Yara Hawari (El-Shabakeh) about how Palestinian narratives are reaching new audiences despite significant obstacles.
