Welcome to The Experimental Humanities Collaborative Network

Digital Objects and Curatorial Narratives

April 15, 2023 - April 22, 2023
Faculty-led

This workshop was aimed at professionals linked to museums, galleries, art collections, heritage conservation and related areas. It offers exploration and experimentation in the capture of objects related to art, architecture, movable heritage or museum collections through digital tools, as well as the advantages offered by such registration in the development of curatorial and exhibition proposals. Currently, the emergence of applications, software and Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms has allowed the evolution of three-dimensional registration technologies, which have become an accessible alternative to facilitate research, creation, exhibition and dissemination processes. These workshops included theoretical and practical sessions that allowed experimentation with tools, while discussing the risks and possibilities of technologies and delving into the tensions between rights, circulation and Digital Humanities. Along with registration, different ways of circulation were based on examples in which different physical materialities and virtual spaces such as the Metaverse converge, linked to immersive media tools through activities with Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR).
