The workshop series on Digital Methods and Analysis in Teaching, Learning, and Research spanned over 3 months, and was aimed at students, teachers, researchers, from AUCA, Kyrgyzstan, and the broader region from Central Asia. The goals of this project included: expanding the technical skills and teaching methodology of teachers and supporting them in planning their teaching and learning activities in new ways, increasing researchers and student researchers' ability to conduct research and data analysis in new and richer ways, increasing AUCA visibility as a Digital Humanities hub, and extending the Digital Humanities in Central Asia Network by providing events of interest to the members of the network, and furthermore attracting new members by introducing them to the methods and tools of digital humanities.
The workshops were divided into 4 categories, exploring textual, temporary, spatial, and network analysis tools and methodologies. The participants were a diverse group composed of AUCA students and faculty, including teachers from AUCA's Technical School of Innovation, colleagues from Russia (including Moscow State University, Kazan Federal and Siberian Federal Universities), colleagues from Bishkek Humanities University, from University of Central Asia, teachers from two private high schools in Bishkek, and colleagues from Forman Christian College in Pakistan. Additionally, there are plans for follow-up activities to make sure that participants make effective applications of the knowledge and skills they have acquired, assisting them in their projects as needs appear.
