Bard College Berlin
The ANIMA collective has been organizing various events throughout the academic year to support and nourish our community. Their first big project was the construction of the watermelon distribution center, which serves as both a piece of art and a political information point for sharing zines, books, and other resources. ANIMA has hosted community dinners and film screenings, mask making workshops, DIY skillshares, and an activist safety training on campus, as well as a workshop with a somatic practitioner and transformative justice teacher at Casa Kua in the Berlin neighborhood of Kreuzberg.
ANIMA has established an autonomous zone on campus along with the collective of the same name, and built an outdoor space for all students to enjoy. This is where they have hosted many of their workshops and a free clothing shop. They operate as a consensus-based and non-hierarchical community space advocating for social change, mutual aid, and political art.
